Recovered from a well managed deposit in Mozambique, this ruby began its journey as a carefully selected rough crystal. Miners trained in selective extraction identified the piece for its dense red saturation and intact crystalline form, and the stone was then transported to a regional sorting facility where initial assessments of color and clarity were performed. From that point it entered a controlled supply chain emphasizing transparency and traceability, passing through a qualified gemological laboratory for independent verification. The 3.03 carat oval shape red ruby presents dimensions of 9.76 by 7.88 by 4.08 mm, and its potential for fine cutting was confirmed early in the process. Heat treatment was applied, a standard and stable enhancement for rubies, to optimize color uniformity and to reduce appearance of internal color zoning, while preserving the stone integrity. Each stage of the movement from mine to market was documented, ensuring provenance records accompany the gem upon sale.
In the cutting studio the rough was shaped and faceted using a mixed brilliant cut, executed to yield precise light return and optimal face up appearance. The stone is faceted to an exacting standard, with an excellent polish that enhances surface brilliance and tactile finish. Clarity is graded as very very slightly included, evaluated at eye level, indicating inclusions that are minor and do not interfere with the gem s visual performance. The intense color intensity remains the defining attribute of the piece, a vivid red that is both lively and evenly distributed. Final quality control inspections, including measurements and photographic documentation, were completed before the ruby was made available to clients. The Natural Ruby Company presents this gemstone as an example of responsible sourcing combined with skilled lapidary work, offering a transparent account of its path from Mozambican mine to market, and providing a thoroughly evaluated, well finished ruby suitable for a variety of fine jewelry settings.
