Product description

This bracelet is conceived as an integrated ensemble of rubies and diamonds, entirely set in platinum nine hundred, with each gemstone mounting executed to precise tolerances. Platinum nine hundred, composed of ninety percent platinum alloyed for strength, is chosen for its density and resistance to wear, qualities that make it an ideal foundation for secure stone settings. The metal accepts fine detail and holds crisp edges after hand finishing, allowing the geometric motif of the bracelet to remain sharp while supporting repeated wear. From the initial CAD assisted layout to the final hand polishing, the craftsmanship emphasizes exacting dimensions for every seat and bezel, so that each ruby and each diamond aligns within the overall rhythm of the piece. Proportions are established to balance visual scale and structural integrity, with the ruby placements positioned to receive the maximum reflective return from surrounding diamond pavings and open galleries where appropriate.

The rubies are individually considered for cut, color, and clarity before they are set, ensuring that each oval receives a complementary mounting that secures the stone while revealing its depth of color. For the primary rubies, the workshop uses a low profile collet style seat combined with discreet, finely tapered prongs that are formed and burnished to the stone girdle. This hybrid approach offers the protective embrace of a partial bezel with the light admission of prongs, minimizing exposed edges and reducing snag risk without compromising brilliance. Each ruby seat is reamed and hand finished to match the exact dimensions of the cabochon or faceted oval, then annealed and stress relieved to prevent micro movement. Millgrain detailing is applied by hand along the bezel and bridge edges to create a soft visual border and to further lock the setting components together. The rubies are gently burnished into place so that the metal conforms to the stone feather and pairs of opposing prongs are shaped and mirrored by eye to maintain a consistent silhouette across every link.

The diamond work surrounding each central ruby is executed through a combination of bead set pavings and tightly controlled channel sections that follow the Art Deco inspired geometry of the links. Small single cut diamonds and melee sizes are selected and matched for hue and brightness, then sorted for consistent diameter to allow uniform bead spacing. Each tiny diamond is seated in a hand punched hole and secured with precision raised beads that are formed using gravers and a staking tool. The bead setter shapes the metal around each stone, then tightens and polishes the beads so that they sit flush with the diamond girdle, producing even light return and limiting shadowing. In channel segments the diamonds are laid into machined tracks that are hand finished to a smooth seat, and then the channel walls are gradually compressed and burnished to lock the stones without tension points. All diamond edges that meet open spaces are finished with polished milgrain to conceal any micro seams and to create a continuous visual line that leads the eye between the rubies.

The assembly of the bracelet is completed through skilled soldering, pinning, and final hand finishing that convert individual stone settings into a flexible, yet robust, articulated piece. Each link is soldered and then tumble tested for fit and movement, with hinge points pierced and rolled to maintain even articulation while preventing lateral play that could stress the settings. The clasp and safety elements are integrated into the design so that closures sit flush with the link geometry and do not exert undue leverage on the ruby bezels or diamond channels. After assembly, each stone is inspected under high magnification for secure seating, and any bead or prong is micro reworked as necessary. The finished surfaces are polished by hand in stages to bring the platinum to a luminous but restrained sheen, while preserving the crispness of engraved lines and milgrain. Final quality control includes light performance evaluation to confirm that ruby color is unobstructed by metal and that diamond pavings show uniform scintillation. The result is a bracelet where every gemstone setting is the product of deliberate metal work, calibrated stone seating, and meticulous finishing, designed to preserve beauty and security over many years of wear.
