From the rugged alluvial soils of Thailand to a finished ring that sits like a small story on the hand, this ruby began as a deep red crystal, formed over millions of years within the Earth. Skilled miners and ethical sourcing practices brought the rough ruby to light, where its AIG certification charted its authenticity and origin. We selected this 4.02 carat oval shape ruby for its intense, dark color saturation and transparent nature, its dimensions of 10.95 by 8.38 by 4.94 mm offering a generous canvas for the cutter. The mixed brilliant cut applied to this stone was chosen to honor both its color and its internal character, so that warmth and depth are balanced with lively return and scintillation. Evaluated at eye level, the clarity grade registers as included, and the gem reveals natural internal features that tell its origin story, while an excellent polish allows each facet to sing with light.

The mixed brilliant cut combines a faceted crown optimized for brilliant sparkle with a pavilion geometry that deepens tone and channels light back through the table, creating flashes that move with the finger. The result is an oval whose symmetry and facet junctions are carefully controlled so that light performance reads as both lively and velvety, enhancing the ruby core while masking shadowed areas. Surrounding the center stone, a halo of white round natural diamonds totaling approximately 0.36 carats, clarity VS and color grade F G, is set in delicate prongs to frame the ruby and increase perceived size and brilliance. The entire composition is embraced by a warm 14K yellow gold mounting, chosen to complement and intensify the red.
