Product description

This GIA certified natural ruby from The Natural Ruby Company is a transparent, 2.55 carat oval shaped gem measuring 9.16 x 7.15 x 4.30 millimeters, length to width ratio approximately 1.28, total depth approximately 53 percent. The stone is fashioned in a mixed brilliant cut, combining a brilliant facet arrangement on the crown with a modified pavilion geometry, the design chosen to maximize both color saturation and light return. The crown exhibits well proportioned kite and star facets that create lively scintillation, while the pavilion has been faceted to retain weight and enhance the visual depth of the red hue. The girdle is even, the polish is excellent, and the clarity is graded as slightly included when evaluated at eye level, meaning small, internal features are present but do not interrupt transparency or the gem's overall brilliance. Enhancement is heat treatment, applied to stabilize and intensify the natural color, and the documented origin is Burma Myanmar, attributes confirmed on the accompanying GIA report.

Color is the defining characteristic of this piece, vivid in intensity with a rich, bold red that reads as pure and saturated under standard daylight and artificial lighting, a chromatic presence that communicates personal power and distinction. The combination of vivid saturation and controlled tone ensures the ruby projects a strong center of attention in jewelry settings, a quality valued by knowledgeable buyers who prioritize color over size. For mounting considerations, a minimal prong setting allows light to penetrate and showcase the internal color dynamics, while a slightly lower crown can be used to protect the pavilion without sacrificing visual weight. As a corundum species gem with excellent polish and a durable hardness, this ruby is suited for daily wear in rings and pendants when set with secure mountings. The dimensions make it an ideal center stone for bespoke designs that emphasize classical proportions and definitive color, a signature piece for clients seeking a jewel that symbolizes authority and refined taste. This gem is offered by The Natural Ruby Company with full documentation, and it is recommended for connoisseurs who appreciate precise cutting, authentic provenance, and the commanding presence of a vivid Burmese ruby.
